Do Voters have a Real Choice

Is it Election Interference

Republican voters in CD-3 have two official candidates - Jeff Hurd, current Congressman, and his opponent Ron Hanks.   Is this campaign, however, really selecting who is the best conservative candidate and/or was the action by President Trump and Speaker Johnson election interference?

Jeff Hurd

● initially endorsed by President Trump

● the President called Hurd a “RINO”

● then endorsed Hope Scheppelman and then withdrew it month later

● Hurd allegedly threatened the President if he was not re-endorsed

● Hurd is a RINO who has opposed Trump on a number of issues

● Hurd aligned with our Democrat U.S. Senators attempted land grabs

● his law firm works to divert water from the San Luis Valley to the Front Range

● his campaign claims “he is working for us”

● he refused to participate in many County Party events

● he failed to hold Town Hall meetings

● he ignored many County Parties, yet met with non-Republican officials

● he only reaches out to us during Primaries expecting our vote

● Hurd campaign ads and mailers claim he “is working with Trump”

● Hurd proudly proclaims a former State Senator is one of his advisors

● the former State Senator's record “includes” sponsored legislation that SEXUALLY EXPLOITS

         CHILDREN, voted to DECRIMINALIZE Drug Dealers and Fentanyl

● former State Senator falsely accused constituents 

● former State Senator justified using F-Bomb against constituents

● former State Senator supported Democrat candidates in 2022 and 2024

● again, Hurd is proud of his association with the above disgraced individual

● Hurd is a real RINO and does NOT deserve to be re-elected

Ron Hanks

● is only in the race because Hope Scheppelman withdrew

● Hope withdrew due to Trump’s request and re-endorsement of Hurd

● Hope withdrew, so why should Hanks step in at the last hour

● he did not campaign or earn the voters trust as did Hope

● if Trump’s actions was correct, then Hanks is going against Trump

● if Trump is wrong, then Hope should have your vote not Hanks

● falsely accused a 2 time combat veteran of “akin to stolen valor”

● he was NEVER in combat, though post photos to insinuate combat

● he loves to play his video of shooting at inanimate objects - that is not combat

● claims to support Trump, a former Democrat, yet attacked his 2024 opponent for being a former  Democrat

● failed to disclose he was shacking up with 2024 Party Secretary

● he was supported by Democrats in 2022 and 2024

● he is NOT a true conservative

It is a shame that President Trump and Speaker Johnson interfered in our Primary process.  Instead of the voters making that choice, it was taken (stolen?) from us especially against those who volunteered their time for Hope’s campaign.  Some of us gave generously to her campaign, and that financial risk should only have been affected by the Primary election results rather than by the President and the Speaker's interference in our Primary.

Hope was expected to win the Primary and go on to win the general election in November.  The rationale by both leaders was that Hurd needed to be re-endorsed.  It was very short-sighted since there is no guarantee that Hurd will support Trump following the Primary. Yes, the President’s agenda in Congress was expected to be threatened by Hurd unless re-endorsed by the President; though overlooking the long term strategy, i.e. Republicans need to gain a greater majority in Congress via next November election, and Hope would be there for the America First Agenda.  This far outweighs the risk that Hurd during the interim period would not be there for Trump.

CD-3 voters: you do NOT have to choose between Jeff Hurd and Ron Hanks, but you could vote for “Hope Scheppelman” by writing her name on the Primary ballot.  Or is that a realistic option???

If the write-in was successful, how would Hope respond?   Would Hope tell the President she must honor the voters' decision and go against him?  Or continue to honor the President’s decision and go against the voters?  Hope, in our opinion, should have refused the President’s request to step down in the first place and remained in the Primary.

President Trump’s interference has created a quagmire.  If Hurd wins the Primary, he will probably defeat the Democrat opponent yet he will continue to vote as a RINO (i.e. Democrat without the official party label), and if Hanks wins the Primary he will probably lose to the Democrat opponent especially if the latter is considered to be a moderate rather than a radical Leftist.
