The Indefensible Record of Jeff Hurd

and the Montrose Deep State Defenders

Our community and the Montrose County Republican Party still face a cancer known as the Montrose Deep State and its Defenders of RINOs that include, for example, defending the character and abominable record of former State Senator Coram.   This includes, unfortunately, our current U.S. Congressman Jeff Hurd who is boastful and proud of proclaiming that Coram is his “advisor”.   No true conservative or real Republican should have any relationship with Coram, let alone publicly promote it.

Former State Senator’s Record -

1.  Legislative Liberty Scorecard:

● 2022 = 37.7%     2021 = 37.8%     2020 =  47.1%    2019 = 38.5%

● Lifetime Average Score:  40.28%.       A record of betrayal!!!!

2.  “Elected Republican Senator” sponsored Democrat Legislation:

● HB 19-1032 so-called Sex Ed law that resulted in the “Sexual Exploitation of Children”

● SB 21-067 “Sexually Exploits Children” since it mandates teaching diverse sexual lifestyles

● SB 20-217 anti-law enforcement by removing qualified immunity

  3.  Voted for other Democrat legislation:

● HB 19-1263 that De-Criminalized Drug Dealers and Fentanyl

● SB 13-251 provided drivers licenses to illegals

  4.  Betrayed the GOP, constituents, parents and far worse children:

● Re-elected in 2018 as a “Republican”, but only to betray the voters in 2019 with the abominable sex ed legislation sponsorship and others as noted above

 5.  Legislation a violation of State and Federal Laws regarding Children:

● HB 19-1032 resulted in the infamous sex survey that asked children as young as 10 years of age various sexual acts - clear violation of obscenity laws.  See details below.**

6.  Supported as an elected “Republican” official Democrat candidates in 2022 and 2024

● Blatant violation of Party’s by-laws, unethical conduct, and betrayal of the Party

● Censured by multiple County GOP Parties for his support of Democrat candidates

**  Obscenity - obscene material (such as the aforementioned Sex Survey to school children) that lacks any “serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value” is not protected material under Miller vs. California (413 U.S. 15 1973). 

Sex survey violated Miller vs. California since it did not or does not offer serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value.

Colorado Statute 18-7-101-2(b)(1) - defines “obscene” as material or a performance that depicts or describes “Patently offensive representations or description of ultimate sex acts, normal or perverted…”   NOTE:  Sex Survey asking young school children regarding various sexual acts including “anal sex” violates this State law.

Colorado Statute 18-7-101(1.5) - defines a “minor” as a person under eighteen years of age.

Colorado Statute 18-7-101-6 - “Promote means to manufacture, issue, sell, give, provide, lend,mail, deliver, transmit, publish, distribute, circulate, disseminate, present, exhibit, or advertise, or to offer or agree to do the same”.

Colorado Statute 18-7-102(1.5)(b) - “A person commits wholesale promotion of obscenity to a minor if, knowing its content and character, such person wholesale promotes to a minor or possesses with intent to wholesale promote to a minor any obscene material”

NOTE #1:  The distributor of the infamous sex survey told an Education/Youth sub-committee member of Montrose County Republican Party’s Strategy & Planning Committee in 2021 that it was the result or the survey was justified based on Coram’s sponsored legislation HB 19-1032.   When this committee member reported this to the Central Committee in August 2021, she was verbally assaulted by a former Party Chair (who was soundly defeated earlier that year - received only 17% of the vote for re-election) with various F-Bombs.  He did not like the committee member connecting Coram to the sex survey despite the evidence.  His outburst is only one example of his verbal abuse against Republicans, especially against women prior and after this date.

NOTE #2:  any “registered Republican” who supports the above record of betrayal should not be permitted to attend or participate in any GOP events due to the fact he/she does not support Republican values, policies, and/or its agenda.  Furthermore, said party or parties (as well as any non-Republican individual) are allegedly complicit, if not accessories after the fact, of condoning, supporting, and/or promoting sexual exploitation against children.  Any claims to be a “life-long Republican” is a ruse to distract from their infiltration of the Party for the purpose to sow discord and disunity.  Truly a RINO or a “Democrat in GOP Clothing”!

NOTE #3:  Montrose County Republican Women’s Club - is also allegedly complicit since it has welcomed with open arms the aforementioned disgraced former State Republican Senator and the disgraced former Party Chair who was banned in 2024 for five years due to his record of verbal assaults, numerous by-law violations, misuse of Party finances and campaign donations, and slander and libel against many Republicans.  In addition, the Club has worked against the Party at least since the Fall of 2019.

This club should and must have its charter removed as a “Republican” Women’s Club due to its record, misconduct, and efforts to sabotage the Republican Party for the past six and half years.

NOTE #4: any individual who continues to libel and slander those who oppose the corrupt local Deep State actors while promoting and defending the record and conduct of the disgraced former State Senator and/or the disgraced former County Chair should be exposed for condoning, if not supporting, alleged sexual exploitation of children and other alleged illegal acts.

Based on these revolting facts, Congressman Jeff Hurd should be far removed from such a RINO and his allies.  But then, based on Hurd’s own record in Congress, many believe he is just another RINO too who has also betrayed our community, Party, parents, and children.
