Fascists or Spoiled Brats?

by Fite4Truth

Does Montrose have fascists or just spoiled adults who have never learned that you do not always get your way?  This is exemplified by their refusal to accept election results including County Commissioner in 2024, last Fall’s School Board election, and more recently the new City Council election results.  Their actions demonstrate a clear case of being “election deniers”.

The common thread is that many of the individuals who advocated and succeeded in the recall of County Commissioner Scott Mijares are now targeting the new School Board and its President, Neisha Balleck, as well as our new Mayor, Michael Badagliacco, along with his newly elected conservative colleagues.

These opponents are emboldened from their success in removing Scott Mijares.  A move though technically legal under Colorado law actually violated the Constitution, because Mijares was legally elected; however, he was removed by less than half of the votes that got him elected.   This was not democratic, but a coup!!!  A recall should only occur if an elected official has been convicted of a crime, immoral conduct, and/or unethical behavior.  The recall was all due to the fact these anti-democratic forces did not like Mijares personality and that he kept his campaign promises of promoting an agenda to provide transparency and government accountability.  Mijares actions were not unethical or met the constitutional justification for removal.  The voters though could have relied on his record and/or dislike of him as a reason(s) not to re-elect him for a second term - but not to remove him from office under a recall.  The bottom line is that Mijares opponents did not accept his election.  This group did not even like or accept that the Republican Party in the 2024 Primary elected Mijares over his opponent with multiple Federal Tax Liens.   In fact, too many in this group attempted to use a 30 year SEC civil fine against Mijares while advocating his Primary opponent with tax liens still existing in 2024 should have been the Party’s Primary candidate and subsequent County Commissioner.

Now, to current events regarding the newly elected School Board and City Council members.  No one on the School Board and the City Council has a Mijares personality, but this has not stopped the same anti-democratic forces from attacking these newly elected members.  Unfortunately, again they refuse to accept the election results.  Furthermore, these so-called advocates for democracy have a disturbing pattern of employing fascist tactics.  Examples include attempted bullying tactics, alleged threats, threats of recall, verbal assaults, lack of civil discourse, demands to adhere to their radical Leftist agenda contrary to choices made by the voters.  If not fascists, at a minimum, spoiled adults who throw a fit when elections don’t go their way and when our newly elected officials propose or implement policies they do not favor or support; forgetting their loud minority voices of misconduct, childish behavior, and anit-democratic acts do not override the will of the majority.

Yes, the minority has every right to protest, object, complain, and/or question our elected officials peacefully; however bullying, fascist, or communist tactics are not the solution, but a threat to our Constitutional Republic.
