●SB 24-182 Immigrant Identification Document Issuance: $ 122,855
- The bill changes certain requirements for the issuance of driver licenses or state identification cards to individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States. The bill increases state expenditures for FY 2024-25 and FY 2025-26 only.
●HB 24-1280 Welcome, Reception, Integration, Grant Program:

- The bill creates the Statewide Welcome, Reception, and Integration Grant Program to provide assistance to migrants. It transfers funds in FY 2024-25 only.
●Immigrant Legal Defense Fund: $ 350,000
- Long Bill budget amendment
- A doubling of the fund for FY 2024-25 making a total budget of $700,000. This funding is used for public defense for people facing immigration legal issues. Sponsored by Rep. Mabrey and Sen. Gonzalez.
●Office of Health Equity and Environmental Justice: $ 2,840,715
- Funding for the Office
- Mission: Build partnerships to mobilize community power and transform systems to advance health equity and environmental justice.
- What this office does to advance their mission:
1. Build relationships with communities and across sectors to address root causes of health disparities.
2. Use equity in decision-making and partner with all sectors of government to embed health and equity considerations into their decision-making process.
3. Use data to support the narrative of the social determinants of health and tell the story of what creates health.
4. De-center communications from the English language or any one dominant language, and prioritize language justice when engaging with communities.

- Adds $56.1 million total funds for the Healthy School Meals for All Program, including $40.6 million from the Healthy School Meals for All Program General Fund Exempt Account and $15.5 million from the General Fund. This includes an increase of $56.0 million for meal reimbursements and $100,000 for consulting resources.
●HB 21-1318 Department of Public Health & Environment: $ 198,192
- Outdoor Equity Program
- This bill injected identity politics into access to the outdoors.
●Department of Public Health & Environment: $2,840,715 total funds and 8.3 FTE
- Creating the Office of Health Equity and Environmental Justice by combining two offices.
- The bill includes an increase of $2,840,715 total funds and 8.3 FTE, including a reduction of $11,349 General Fund, to join the Environmental Justice Program with the Office of Health Equity to form the Office of Health Equity and Environmental Justice (OHEEJ) for the purpose of centralizing environmental justice staff. OHEEJ is responsible for ongoing environmental justice work, including administration of environmental health mitigation grants through the Community Impact Cash Fund.
●Department of Revenue: $714,515 total funds and 8.3 FTE
- GENTAX & DRIVES SUPPORT FUNDING: The bill includes an increase of $714,515 total funds and 8.3 FTE, comprised of $442,906 General Fund and $271,609 cash funds from the Colorado DRIVES Vehicle Services. Account, in FY 2024-25. Funds will address the backlog of upgrades and system enhancements to the DRIVES and GenTax systems stemming from legislative, user experience, and system operational demands.
Open Letter to President Donald J. Trump
Dear Mr. President,
Many of your MAGA supporters, if not the majority, in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional
District, are quite dismayed, disappointed, outraged, and/or feel betrayed by your
action to withdraw support from candidate Hope Scheppleman and re-endorse
support for Congressman Jeff Hurd.
We take great exception to your social media post that “It is time to stand
together…and vote for Jeff Hurd, who will do a fantastic job as your Congressman...”
With all due respect, Mr. President, the majority of the conservative movement and
grass root Republicans were already standing together and candidate Scheppleman
was expected to win the State Assembly election followed by victory in June with
the Republican Primary, and the general election in November; so why would you
make such an announcement?
Why would you pull the endorsement from a true conservative who promised to
promote your America First agenda once elected to Congress?
Why would you pull the endorsement from candidate Scheppleman, especially
when you endorsed her just last month and called Hurd a “RINO”?
What do you mean that Hurd “will do a fantastic job” as our Congressman? He is
already our Congressman, but he has betrayed our District and your agenda
multiple times!!!! That is why candidate Scheppleman was gaining so much
support, because she offered a true and honest alternative to RINO Hurd.
RINO Hurd’s record includes the following:
● Voted against your tariff policies and agenda as you so rightly pointed out
last month during your endorsement of Scheppleman.
● He has aligned himself with Colorado’s radical Far left U.S. Senators who
have attempted and continue to attempt a land grab in western Colorado
that would be detrimental to current and future generations of taxpayers
representing farmers, ranchers, miners, timber, energy developers, and
recreational users. Land that is already under Federal regulation.
● He would not promote “Advancing American Energy DOMINANCE” as you
claimed, because as noted above his support for and with radical Democrats attempted land grabs.
● He has refused to attend many local County party events, but will sneak in
for a photo opportunity with the above-mentioned radical U.S. Senators and/or with RINOS.
● One of his most egregious acts, is his refusal to dissociate himself from a
former “Republican State Senator” who SPONSORED perverted legislation:
(1) resulted in the sexual exploitation of children; and
(2) demands exploitation of children.
He also voted to DECRIMINALIZE Drug Dealers and
Fentanyl as well as voted to give illegals drivers licenses. This “Republican”
campaigned for Democrat candidates in 2022 and 2024 against conservative
Republican candidates. Hurd supports this despicable RINO and this RINO
supports Hurd.
Hurd, in our opinion, is not a true conservative. He is, however, a Democrat in
Republican Clothing!
Your endorsement effectively denies the people in the 3rd Congressional District to
choose its own leaders and representatives. This is very anti-democratic and the
antithesis to our Constitutional Republic! If we did not know better, it appears as if
you did not write your own post and in fact was done by an imposter via the “autopen”.
In closing, we ask the voters to stand-by candidate Hope Scheppleman and cast
their votes for her at the 3rd Congressional Assembly in April.. We expect
Scheppleman to support your agenda, Mr. President, as our next Congressional
Representative, but not deny the people’s choice or submit to the whims or the
dictates by the power brokers. If the latter prevails , then we are no longer a free
country.
