The Divide Keeps Getting Deeper Not Wider

It is up to “We the People” to fix it!

by Michael J Badagliacco, "MJB"

Watching the results from primaries roll in across the country makes it evident that the left is doing all it can to install full-blown socialists and communists. From New York City to Denver, the left has installed far-left extremists on their tickets for the November 2026 general election. Special elections held across the country in off-cycle races have also produced a litany of far-left representatives.

We as a country need to ask why. As I research for my articles each week, one thing becomes increasingly evident: the electorate is asleep. We have record-low turnout in elections across the board. When "We the People" allow our voice to be muffled through nonparticipation, it creates a serious problem. But there is an even bigger issue. Stalin, the former Soviet dictator, said, "It matters not who votes. It matters who counts the vote”. In America, however, the left has taken it further. They have ensured that counting the vote is not an issue by flooding the system with illegitimate yet supposedly "legal" ballots going to recipients unknown.

Tainted Voter Rolls Undermine Election Integrity

Our voter rolls are so tainted that we cannot possibly have fair and honest elections. The administration's efforts to clean things up by removing ineligible people from the voter rolls are fought at every turn by judges claiming that people will be disenfranchised. The reality is that these individuals are not eligible to vote legally. That is not disenfranchisement. It is following the law. Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees every state a republican form of government, which can only exist when elections are determined by eligible citizens alone. Federal statutes further protect this principle: 8 U.S.C. § 1325 imposes criminal penalties for improper entry into the United States, and 18 U.S.C. § 611 makes it unlawful for non-citizens to vote in federal elections and yet it still happens and through the eternal vigilance we are discovering how deep the rabbit hole goes. If we continue to allow people with no loyalty to the United States to vote in our elections, we risk becoming like the third-world countries that many who have entered our nation illegally left behind. As a teenager, I spent time in Haiti. Trust me, you do not want that type of life.

Voters Influenced by False Promises

Increasingly, we see candidates and elected officials who have little understanding of what they promote. The voters who do participate are often moved by feelings based on complete lies. They are sold a bill of goods that cannot deliver even a fraction of what is promised.

Take, for example, the Nordic countries held up as the model of successful socialism. These nations only appear to work because the United States supplies their defense on the backs of American taxpayers. Countries like Norway, Finland, and Germany, often cited as models of "successful socialism," bask in the shadow of U.S. military protection while contributing almost none of the financial burden of their national defense. That burden falls on you and me.

Correcting the Record on Socialism

Until we loudly proclaim this fact and correct the record in clear, realistic terms, we will continue to see young minds full of mush buy into the socialist utopia lie. I witness this with my two youngest children, who have been influenced by the delusion. While we are slowly turning that ship around, it is a process. We as a country and as individuals must help their generation understand that there is more to life than perceived "free stuff." The cost of free is too high. It comes in the form of lost freedom and liberty. Short-term thinking for short-term gain ends in the complete devastation of society. On the surface it appears attractive, but the foundation is frail and ready to collapse.

Why do you think Europe is pushing so hard against the administration? It is because Europe is being told that it is time to pay the piper. America is done paying all their bills.

Freedom Demands Sacrifice and Hard Work

There is no freedom without sacrifice, and there is no reward without risk. That is what we need to teach our next generation rather than telling them that everyone else is responsible for their success and happiness. While everyone has the right to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," it does not come without hard work and dedication. These essential elements often get set aside because they are inconvenient.

Thomas Jefferson said, "I prefer dangerous freedom to safe servitude." There is much packed into that quote. It is the epitome of what America is all about. It is not about a free lunch. It is not about leisure and undeserved rewards. It is about sacrifice and risk that end in reward and freedoms available only here in America.
