“The President’s Club” of RNC

Fraud or Incompetence?

by Fite4Truth

I accepted the invitation by the RNC (Republican National Committee) to join “The President’s Club”.  The initial membership fee was $750 (which I paid months ago and have proof the payment by check was cleared by the bank).  All subsequent annual renewals are $1,000.  Membership [allegedly] offered opportunities to attend special events and conferences with political figures, yet at an additional cost for conference fees and paying your own airfare and lodging.  In other words, it is not cheap, but you do NOT have to be a billionaire to participate.

Unfortunately, I have never received a welcome or thank you letter from the RNC Chairman, though I did receive an envelope from him thinking it was his welcome letter.  To my surprise and disgust, when I opened the letter it was addressed to an individual in California thanking him for his “$100 donation”.   Subsequently, I have received numerous letters, emails, and texts asking for donations; but no welcome letter or the promised membership card and Club pin.

On April 19th, my contact at the Club told me in response to my complaint “it’s unacceptable at this point”.  A month later on May 19th, I called the contact again and she told me “I have good news for you” regarding the items promised for my membership, i.e. be mailed out today.  No mail arrived after waiting for over a week, so I called again on June 1st and left her a voice mail message.  She returned my call shortly thereafter and reported they “had some mail issues”.  What?  She claimed on behalf of “The President’s Club” of having “mail issues”, yet failed to be proactive by calling me with an update.   Instead, I had to reach out to her as always has been the case.  This was the final straw after waiting far too long, so I requested a total refund as soon as possible.  The contact responded she would “start working on it”, which was three weeks ago.   Late last week on June 18th, I called and left a voice mail message requesting an immediate refund sent by Fed-X.   As of today, Tuesday, the 23rd still no refund.

I also visited the post office last week since I had received a notice in my mail box that a huge package could not be delivered because $9.61 in postage was due.  Guess what?  It was a package from the RNC that failed to provide sufficient postage for a “calendar”.  I refused the package - was not going to pay the RNC $9.61 for their mistake especially when they still owe me a refund of $750.

Is “The President’s Club” of the RNC actions INCOMPETENCE or is it FRAUD?  Was MAIL FRAUD committed since the invitation was sent via mail?
