Trump and Johnson Deceived by Hurd

U.S. Congressman Jeff Hurd proudly promotes that one of his advisors is former State Senator Don Coram whose legislative record betrayed the Republican Party, law enforcement, parents and FAR WORSE CHILDREN!!!!

Jeff Hurd was informed in early 2024 of Coram’s despicable RINO (Republican in Name Only) State Senate record, yet apparently he is not concerned or maybe actually endorses such a vile record that still has a CHILLING and DISTURBING LEGACY on our State especially against Children and Families.

It was a record of sponsoring and voting for radical Far Left legislation under the guise he was working “across the aisle”.

What makes this situation worse is that CD-3 voters have been denied the right to elect their choice for representation in Congress following Trump’s endorsement withdrawal for candidate Hope Scheppelman and re-endorsement for Hurd.  Allegedly, Hurd threatened Trump if he did not re-endorse him he would vote Democrat against Trump’s agenda.  Wow - Hurd admits he is truly a Republican in Name Only!!!

It is also alleged that Speaker Mike Johnson has thrown his financial support behind Hurd.  And we the people in CD-3 are told to accept Hurd rather than decide for ourselves who we want to be our next Congressperson.  Even if the delegates at this week’s CD-3 Assembly elect a new opponent against Hurd or affirm their support behind Scheppelman, he/she apparently would be going against the wishes of the President and the Speaker.  In other words, the voters' right to decide under our Constitutional Republic be damned, because the top leaders know best??? 

President Trump and Speaker Johnson with all due respect you do not know best regarding this matter.  Your support and endorsement of Hurd has opened a pandora’s box of EVIL!!!  Hurd will betray you as he has already betrayed conservatives in CD-3 (see the “Open Letter to President” in March 24th Colorado DOGE Report), and his constituents will have to endure another two years of Hurd serving himself and his abominable allies rather than the people of CD-3.

In case you did not know, below are a few examples of the former State Senator’s  legislative record that Hurd apparently is so willing to ignore and promote him as one of his advisors.

RECORD OF BETRAYAL:

1. He voted YES on Colorado HB 19-1263 in 2019 that DECRIMINALIZED Drug Dealers and Fentanyl. 

 ** A violation of Federal Drug Laws!

 ** Fentanyl has killed thousands of Americans!

     2.  He sponsored the so-called sex education bill Colorado HB 19-1032 that resulted in the SEXUAL EXPLOITATION of Children.

 ** Sexual Exploitation - e.g. infamous Sex Survey asking children as young as 10 years of age about various sexual acts

 ** Obscenity - defined as material that lacks any “serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value” is not protected under Miller vs. California (413 U.S. 15 1973).  Sex Survey violated Miller vs. California since it did NOT or does NOT offer serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value.

 ** Sex Survey also Violated Colorado Revised Statute 18-7-101-2(b)(1) which defines “obscene” as material or a performance that depicts or describes “Patently offensive representations or descriptions of ultimate sex acts, normal or perverted…”

** 18-7-102(1.5)(a) = “A person commits wholesale promotion of obscenity to a minor if, knowing its content and character, such person wholesale promotes to a minor or possesses with intent to wholesale promote to a minor any obscene material.

     3.  He sponsored Colorado SB 21-067, the so-called Civics Education law.  This perverted legislation mandates teaching elementary children diverse sexual lifestyles.

**  A number of schools in Colorado have reported being faced or having this law imposed on their classrooms.

     4. Record of Betraying the Republican Party

** Re-elected as a Republican State Senator in 2018, but only to betray the Party the following year and subsequent years with his sponsorship and voting record for radical Democrat legislation as noted above.

** False accusations against his own constituents.  He also justified using the F-Bomb against constituents.

** Censored by a number of Republican County Parties for supporting and endorsing a number of Democrat candidates as a “Republican” elected official.  He did this in 2022 and 2024.

Update 3/31/26:  he also voted for Colorado HB 19-1129 that forced medical professionals to affirm gender dysphoria. 

Another example of his betrayal and abominable record.   

On Tuesday, March 31st the U.S. Supreme Court in a 8-1 ruling struck down this perverted Colorado law.

Jeff Hurd, as noted above, includes this former State Senator as one of his advisors and prime supporters.  He has welcomed the former legislator’s support and endorsement far too long.  It started in 2024, if not earlier, during the early stages of the Republican pre-Primary and, unfortunately, it has continued two years later for this Primary campaign season.  It begs the question, why is Hurd so connected with this corrupt former State Senator?  Why does Hurd have this relationship especially when he was informed as previously stated of the RINO’s abominable legislative record two years ago? 

A candidate should be aware or have knowledge of a major donor’s (supporter’s) record, character, and reputation.  In addition, no supporter or donor should ever have a hold on an elected official or candidate.  And no elected official and/or candidate should ever be willfully connected or intentionally ignorant of a noted supporter who sponsored and voted for legislation that is a threat to our communities, law enforcement, parents and children.  Fortunately, as noted above our U.S. Supreme Court struck down one of the perverted and abominable laws supported by the disgraced “Republican” former legislator.

Mr. President, contrary to your recent post on Hurd, he will NOT “do a fantastic job” as our Congressman; because he is already aligned with your enemies that you call “Crazed Radical Left Democrats”.   Some just hide their true colors as Democrats in Republican Clothing or more commonly known as RINO's!
