Trump's Tariffs Deliver the Perfect 2026 Economy: Critics Left Speechless
For four long years I listened as Democrats warned that President Trump's tariffs would wreck the economy, crush 401(k) accounts, and drive prices sky high.
The numbers are now in. They tell a completely different story.
Peter Navarro stepped onto national television and dropped facts so strong that every economist who predicted disaster must be closing their laptops in silence.
The Numbers Democrats Don't Want You to See
The Dow Jones has now hit 50,000 for the first time in history.
Real wages are rising, meaning your paycheck buys more today than it did last year.
The ISM Manufacturing Index posted what Navarro called a very robust final jump, the kind of reading that shows American factories are humming again on home soil.
CPI inflation came in at 2.4 percent, an eight-month low that beat every forecast.
Navarro put it plainly on Fox News Sunday: "It's the perfect Trump economy in 2026."
He then added something that stopped the room: the last time America saw strong growth, low inflation, rising wages, and a booming stock market all moving together was back in 1998.
Why Trump's Tariffs Just Proved Every Critic Wrong
Folks who lived through the Clinton 1990s still brag about that era of strong growth, low inflation, rising wages, and a hot stock market.
Democrats turned it into their political legend.
Now President Trump is delivering the exact same combination, achieved through tariffs, the one policy every mainstream economist swore would explode inflation.
Navarro made the point crystal clear: "This is happening because of tariffs, not in spite of them, as the critics would say, because if there were any tariff inflation, it would show up in the core. It's simply not doing that."
Read it again.
The tariff-driven price explosion that CNN screamed about for two straight years never arrived. It was supposed to wipe out working families. It did not happen.
SCOTUS Dissent Reveals Trump's Additional Tariff Avenues
Just two days ago on February 20, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not authorize broad tariffs.
But Justices Kavanaugh, Thomas, and Alito delivered a powerful dissent. Justice Kavanaugh, joined by Thomas and Alito, made clear the ruling changes little on the ground. He wrote that the decision "might not substantially constrain a President's ability to order tariffs going forward" because numerous other federal statutes already authorize them.
Those avenues include the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (Section 232), the Trade Act of 1974 (Sections 122, 201, and 301), and the Tariff Act of 1930 (Section 338). Kavanaugh laid out a clear roadmap showing most or all current tariffs could proceed under these longstanding laws, often with just a few extra procedural steps that IEEPA did not require.
The dissent reinforces what the data already proves: Trump's tariff strategy is built on solid legal ground and is delivering results for American workers.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Tax Refund Democrats Can't Stop
This is where it gets personal for families right here in Colorado.
Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill into law on July 4, 2025. It means no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security for seniors.
The IRS never updated paycheck withholding tables after the law passed. That left millions of workers overpaying taxes all year. Those overpayments are now coming back as refunds.
The Tax Foundation projects the average refund jumping from $3,052 last year to $3,800 this filing season, roughly $750 more per household than usual.
President Trump called it the largest tax refund season in American history.
Navarro drove the point home on Sunday: "When Americans get those rebate checks on Tax Day, that's going to be the biggest rebate, broad-based, in American history in 2026."
No Tax on Tips. No Tax on Overtime. Democrats Still Won't Admit It
Navarro did not let the press or Democrats off the hook.
"The media's got to take some responsibility here and the Democrats. To the extent they keep bashing us irrespective of the data, that's going to drag down confidence."
He is right!
The same reporters who told you tariffs would mean economic collapse now stare at a Dow above 50,000, falling inflation, rising wages, and the largest refund season ever. Their only move is to hunt for something, anything, to complain about.
There is a word for ignoring every piece of evidence because it does not match what you already believe.
Democrats have been doing exactly that since January 20, 2025.
The data does not care about their feelings. On Tax Day, millions of families here in Colorado and across America will open their bank accounts and feel the difference for themselves.
Just one man’s humble opinion.
